It all began in 1930. Late Sri Burde Sadananda Kamath, a general merchant, in his travels to Malnad, discovered the exquisite nature of jewellery made in Udupi. Soon he began purchasing jewellery from the local craftsmen and selling them to the customers in other places. In 1935, Kamath opened “Neo Jewellery Mart”, the first jewellery shop in Udupi.A man of principles, Kamath only sold pure, quality gold to customers. The Gold Control Act of 1962 restricted jewellers from selling 22 karat gold.
Utterly unprofessional people. I had booked a necklace for Rs.1.04 Lakhs on 22nd by paying Rs.24000/-at the Kadri outlet and was assured by the Manager that on remitting the balance amount by 26th, the item will be delivered to me at Mumbai within a week by courier. It is now more than 10 days that I have remitted the money and now I am told that they have no arrangements to deliver the product as there is no one going to Mumbai with them and hence I will have to wait till then. I will not recommend anyone to deal with Abharan.
